It has not been a good Christmas Holiday for Sailing. The Boxing Day event was cancelled because of no wind and the New Years Event was cancelled because there was too much. The likely hood of capsizing was high and there water is very cold and with the large amounts of rain, few would want to venture onto the water and sitting in a safety boat would not have been much fun. Therefore the Duty officer decided in the interest of safety to cancel the sailing.
The weather has disrupted the New Years sailing and the weather could still change the events, that we have planned for this coming year, but we need to plan and make allowances for some change.
