Vagabond

Sail Number 13 Built in 1907

History

Built in 1907 from designs by Lindon Hope by Townsends of Bourne End for TL Harrison. The boat was similar in design to Scamp I  and  had little success in the early years. In 1934 Vagabond was bought by Beecher Moore who designed the first Trapeze. He later equipped her with novel sliding seats and added a much taller mast. With these modifications she won every trophy and was one of the most successful A-Raters. She was the first of the wooden A-Raters to be restored as was displayed in 1970 at the London Boat Show. Vagabond with her distinctive sail is still one of the best A-Raters
