Sail Number 10 Built in 1910
Designed and built by Burgoine in 1910 for CS Yates of Thames Sailing Club. Under the aviation pioneer Fred Sigrist,
who helped found the Hawker aircraft company, she was very successful in the 20s. At the Thames Yacht Club in Kingston Fred Sigrist is racing his tall-masted A-Rater ‘Viva’ and is one of those blown mast level to the water in a squall. On Monday he presents the ‘Sigrist Trophy’ to the only yacht winning a race on each of the three day’s racing. This new silver ‘Sigrist Trophy’ incorporates an image of the 1919 Sopwith ‘Atlantic’ biplane. (below)
A similar design to My Lady Dainty. She is now lost to the World. She was broken up in the 1990s having been sold off the river. She was similar to My Lady Dainty from many accounts and so could arise again from a mould of that boat.
