New Rules for the day. You MUST have FUN.
A number of members from the club of all ages and experience gathered and we managed to form three teams. The wind was light so the course was short. The batons were marked with the team colours, as were the boats. The rules - all the baton changes had to take place between the H mark and the yellow buoys and you had to sail around the triangular course and you were allowed a joker round ( lap) where the helm was blindfolded.
A great system was used because of the number of new members- stand in line teams 1-2-3 then the next three 1-2-3
In the Safety Boat Guy and I spent our time moving the far marks nearer and nearer to the start.
Missed Photos - the Safety Boat and Captain Beaky, coming to a halt on the River and offering salutes to the applause of the crews, The Epic water pistol battle between the Safety Boat Crew and the green Team of Don and Stuart as they waited for wind. Some of the crews paddling their boats. Philip walking into Bourne End in full costume and buying the prizes.
Both the red and Green Teams managed 20 laps each, but the red team won by 1/2 a lap, so Keira the captain of the Red team won the Cup and the box of Heros, with the second prize of the celebrations going to the Green Team ( The Black Pig). With the help of Rory we lot the BBQ started and sat down to a good helping of sausages beefburgers and pork and chicken steaks.
