The Day wasn't as expected. I thought Safety Boat. The Day turned out to be moving boats from one boat house to another, laying hardcore and going out in the safety boat. Here is how the day went.
We arrived and started sorting out boats straight away. The Harbour master wanted more room in one of the boat houses, so needed some of the canoes, kayaks and paddle boards moving over to the other boat house so before we could do anything else we went moving boats.
Peter had sailed yachts but never anything as small as a wayfarer. Under Sally ( a retired senior instructor) guidance Peter learnt how to rig a wayfarer learning that one of the cleats was designed to work the other way up to hold the mail sail up. Once launched Peter had to learn how to attach the rudder before he could learn how to helm, practicing the swapping of hands and sitting on different sides of the boat.
Sally took the Helm and showed Peter what to do and how to crew the boat
Our Safety Boat duties were uneventful, unlike last time, so after we put the boats away, we started some other duties. Moving some hardcore to fill up a hole where the concrete had collapsed.
