Start Sail 3: Lots of Rain and no Wind = Theory

And instead of being boring this was really interesting and Paul and I learnt a lot.  it was proper piddling down. The Motorway drive was rain all the way and with the spray visibility was poor, but when we arrived the rain had eased a bit and we made our way to the clubhouse. and shelter. The traffic had been lighter than we expected so we had reached the club in good time. In fact we were the first to arrive.
Our instructor for the morning was Martin Beddows - an experienced sailor and training instructor.

Learning and Deploying the Asymmetrical Spinnaker

In the afternoon, there was no fun sailing. No one turned up. The sun came out  but there is not even a breath of wind. Paul and I spent an hour working out how to deploy the spinnaker and practised a few time on dry land until we could get it to deploy and put it back.
