And that was the story of Sundays sailing. When I mean no wind, literally there was none. The rain had stopped. The anemometer was stationary. We waited an hour. Still there was no wind. The best the Officer of the Day could suggest was lets open the bar and the members drifted in rather than staring at the river longing for a sudden breeze to come. The members looked at different weather apps on their phones seeking out the ones with the best weather forecast but it made no difference to the wind.
There was talk of what boat Paul could go out in. He is too big and heavy for lasers, lightning, and ok's - The best idea was for Paul to get a Phantom and increase the fleet from two to three and the members chipped in on the best prices to aim for £2-3000 mark seemed a good idea. Mark had a nearly new one for sale but still suggested Paul went for an older one.
Other jobs got done. I upgraded the Sailwave scoring program to the latest version. Had lunch, but there was nothing else to do but stare into a cool beer and swapping stories with other mates.
