Paul and Guy under Daity Twoo placing Wedges under the boat to support it

You can't have an A-Rater unless it is weighed

On a rather deary day in early March Paul and I set forth to the boat club to help the restored Dainty Too A-Rater be weighed. To be an A-Rater the boat must be above a certain weight and this is about 340kg, so armed with some very heavy scales we set about weighing the boat.

Easy with a little help

We put down the balance on four specially cut blocks and then placed a large sheet of board to spread the load of the boat and some supports. This was then weighed and tared and then the boat was gently lowered onto the  balance. All the bits of the boat that were not yet fitted like the centreboard and rudder were laid onto the boat. Easy.
