Wednesdays on the Water. There was a light breeze, and the Sun was shining. Quite a few members were down by the River. Gary had booked out an OK Consida. Derek had owned and raced Consida in the past so we took him and his friend out in the Whaly acting as a safety boat and giving Gary some reassurance that we were there in case anything went wrong. It was Gary's first outing of the season and he was worried about how much he might have forgotten. Within minutes he was racing away from us and putting his skills to the test.
This was an ideal day for sailing. It was a shame only two boats were out on the water but we couldn't go because we were acting as a safety boat and others were working to prepare for the Bourne End Weekend
Sometimes it is nice just cruise up and down the river watching the sailboats and the world go by. No racing just relaxing.
